It was certainly a race not made easier by the weather (for both runners and marshals) but at least it wasn’t the weekend before!

My name is Chris Armstrong.
I ran in the senior men’s race in the North Midland league at Heanor on Saturday 4th December. My position was 167.
I would like to say thanks to all the Marshalls, female and male who stood at various positions on the course in the cold, wind and rain. There where some words of encouragement from the Marshall’s, which where appreciated by the runners in the tough conditions.
Also the course tape on the high plastic posts helped, along with the caution sign at the brook / ditch when leaving the wooded part before the muddy climb up the hill towards the completion of each lap.
Thanks to all at Heanor Running Club for organising this North Midland league race.
