Last year’s race saw a record number of 932 finishers enjoy mulled wine, mince pies and Christmas puddings in stunning conditions on Shipley Park.

The Fun Run also saw a fantastic turnout – and will return in 2018.

New for 2018

Following last year’s record number of entries, this year will see the limit increased to 1,200 entries.

Entry for the event is online-only via Run Britain and is expected to sell-out in advance.

Due to the developments taking place at the former American Adventure Theme Park, there will also be a new course for 2018.

The event will start and finish as usual at Shipley Park Visitor Centre, with the new route to be confirmed soon.

All finishers will receive a Matthew Walker Christmas pudding and technical t-shirt.

New course records will be up for grabs, which means there will be cash prizes in addition to the usual hampers for race and category winners.

Designated charity

Since 2014, proceeds from entries to the Heanor Running Club Christmas Pud Run have gone to support local charities.

The designated charity for 2018 is Boporan Charitable Trust.

The Boparan Charitable Trust aims to help children and young people up to the age of 18, throughout the Uk, who are disadvantaged either through poverty, disability or life-limiting conditions.
