Derbyshire XC Champs results
Ben Connor and Tamara Armoush scooped the senior honours at the Heanor Running-Club hosted Derbyshire Cross Country Championships yesterday.
The Shipley Park mud bath saw Joe Rainsford bag bronze and lead the senior men home to county silver on home turf. Nine men turned out, with the veteran men, headed by 15th-placed Gordon Smith, finishing fifth.
Lily Winfield won individual silver in the U15 girls race while team mate Ashleigh Armostrong finished fourth. Sam Marsh and Billy Wallbank finished 17th and 29th respectively in the U13 boys event.
Claire Smith finished sixth to secure county selection for the UKCAU Inter-Counties XC in March. She was followed home by Jill Burke and Rose Leivers.
Mollie O’Hanlon bagged fourth and county selection in the U17 girls race while Thomas Bailey won the U11 1500m by 12 seconds.
Myles O’Hanlon finished 13th in the U15 boys category and Phoebe Winfield placed 18th in the U13 girls 3000m race.
