Third BDL sees 36-strong turnout take top-spot

IMGP2771

Heanor RC dominated the latest BDL at Denby Pottery as a 36-strong team took top-spot in the men’s and combined categories, and second in the ladies’ standings.

A deep field of 316 finishers was headed by the in-form Joe Rainsford. Joe, who has been selected to represent the Midlands at this Friday’s Notts 10 Mile road race, led home a HRC 1-2 ahead of Matt Bickerstaff.

Lisa Palmer took the women’s honours and led the scoring trio to second-place behind Sutton – victory for the girls in the final two fixtures could be enough to see them snatch the title overall.
