A twenty-one-strong turnout for the third BDL on Sunday dwarfed the numbers in yellow and blue that turned out for the North Midlands XC League on home turf the day before.

Joe Rainsford competed in both races and led home another HRC 1-2 at Bakewell Showground.

Joe eased clear to enjoy his second BDL XC victory of the season. Team mate Chris Patterson occupied second-spot for a repeat of the opening day result at Shipley Park.

Fourteen year-old Lily Winfield took the female individual honours, finishing 22nd overall.

Fellow junior Ashleigh Armstrong backed Lily up with a third-place finish in the women’s standings, 42nd overall.

HRC took the male, female and combined team honours on the day.
